About the Department
The Department of English came to full form in the year 2019 with the introduction of B.A English. We have 6 inspiring faculty members and dynamic students. Our glowing department stimulates excellent navigation for the students to expose their competency. Our department strives to make learning positive and delighted experience by embedding the students to be confident, responsible and self-disciplined citizens. We also provide a lot of opportunity to exhibit their attitude both in academic and non-academic activities.
The department is committed to cultivating Graduates who will be engaged citizens and communities members, in addition to successful professionals and lifelong learners. We also hope that our students in particular will learn to recognize how literature and other forms of cultural protection uniquely intervene in questions of justice and shape our way of being in the world The literature program includes such varied subjects as African-American literature, film, Shakespeare, Drama and short fiction. These courses are intended not only for English majors and minors but also for students preparing for careers in such fields as law, business, government, and medicine. Through rigorous assessment, the English Department maintains current and relevant programs.
The Department of English conducts a literary fest towards the end of every academic year. Variety of competitions such as Essay Writing Competition, Short Story Writing Competition, Poetry Writing Competition, and Creative Writing Competition, literary exhibitions are conducted in every year. The Department is looking forward to an intra-collegiate literary fest during every academic year as a step to widen the program’s horizon.
